The standard we aim to meet
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We do not claim that every part of the site meets it yet.
What works today
- You can use the course, its quizzes and the exam with a keyboard alone.
- Pages have headings, landmarks and labelled form fields, and error messages are read out.
- When a question changes on screen, your focus moves to it and your screen reader is told.
- Every image has a text description, and every lesson video has captions and a transcript.
- Your certificate’s details are also on its verification page, as web text.
Limitations we know about
PDF documents
Your certificate, your wallet card and the student manual are PDF files. A screen reader cannot move through them by heading or table. The same information is in the course and on your certificate’s verification page. Ask us if you need one in another format.
The exam
The final exam is timed (75 minutes) and proctored. It needs a webcam and a microphone, and software checks that your face is on camera and listens for talking. A screen reader playing through speakers can count as talking, so use headphones if you can. If these requirements do not work for you, contact us before you start.
